Wine for Spring

Ah, the sunshine has finally come out (after that random snow) and the evenings are getting longer, so it's time to think about some refreshing changes to our wine selections. The first thing that comes to mind when you think 'Spring' is fresh cut grass, cool breezes and the odd spring shower along with that blissful sun. So what wine would the staff here at AW HQ choose to reflect this?

Something zingy, fruity, fresh and maybe something a bit quirky........

1. First choice would be the Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur Lie by Domaine du Manoir - fresh and zippy and that all important tang, this wine is almost made for those cool evenings to enjoy with some local caught salty shellfish.

2. A controversial but intriguing red, our Via Romana Mencia ticks all the boxes for a fresh and quirky wine. Similar in style to a light Cabernet Franc, this wine has entincing flavours of ripe red fruits with a touch of violet on the finish.
3. Now try saying this one after a few glasses - Txomin Etxaniz, DO Chacoli de Goetaria. Crisp and fruity with a slight salty tang from ageing by the sea in the North West of Spain. Excellent wine to have with fresh anchovies marinated in garlic with hunks of crusty bread.

So there you have it, a quirky yet refreshing selection of wines we recommend for drinking in the springtime. Which one will you choose?
